Walmart develops concept truck

US retailer Walmart has commenced work on what it calls the Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience (WAVE) concept truck, which will be 20 percent more aerodynamic than its current trucks and have a micro-turbine hybrid powertrain that can run on diesel, natural gas or biodiesel.The trailer is made almost exclusively of carbon fibre, saving almost 4,000 pounds (1.8 tonnes) on tare weight. It is equipped with a convex nose that not only adds to aerodynamic performance, but also increases storage space on the inside.
