Unaddressed Mail Service (UMS)

There has been confusion in some areas about the guidelines for the delivery of unaddressed mail, also known as "householders". POAAL can confirm that unaddressed mail does not to have to be delivered on a specific day, even if your AP manager demands it.The Australia Post Terms & Conditions (available on the AP website) note that for UMS, "delivery of articles shall be made between Monday to Friday of the nominated delivery week."Furthermore, all UMS consignments given to Contractors must have a lodgement slip attached to it noting the number of articles, the article type, the customer, and so on. You should not deliver UMS unless you have received a proper AP lodgement slip.Remember that under the terms of your mail contract you cannot accept UMS-type delivery items from non-AP sources for delivery while performing your AP mail contract.
