[/caption]Many strategic matters were discussed, with emphasis on growing Australia Post's business, especially for Licensees and Contractors. "A strong Australia Post equals strong value of Licensed Post Offices," Mr Fahour said.Australia Post's proposed partnership with Rural Bank is seen as an opportunity to expand the range of products and services available through the post office network to rural Australia. Australia Post agreed that Licensees - especially in rural and regional areas - must be able to diversify their business.POAAL raised the matter of the handling of carded parcels. Mr Fahour responded that Australia Post is confident of being able to introduce systems improvements that should lead to a better experience for Licensees, Contractors and customers with regard to parcel delivery this Christmas.The importance of communications at an operational level was stressed, both for the retail network and the delivery network.
