PIO report on Safe Drop

The Postal Industry Ombudsman has prepared a report on Australia Post's Safe Drop programme.The PIO's report concludes that there are no significant or systemic problems arising from Safe Drop. The PIO has, however, brought to Australia Post's attention certain observations. They relate to:

• additional training and awareness for staff about 'safe places' for delivery;
• people who want to 'opt out' of the Safe Drop program;
• the requirement to leave a card when an item is 'safe dropped'.
