Personal data of 25m people missing in internal mail

Two computer disks containing the contact and bank details of 25 million UK taxpayers have gone missing in transit.A UK public servant, working in Revenue and Customs, sent the details to another govennment department on two computer disks which then went missing.TNT operates the Revenue and Customs's internal post system. UK Police are now involved in trying to locate the parcel.The parcel was sent on 18 October but was not reported missing until 10 November. TNT has noted that track and trace was not used in this instance.
