Peak day is coming!

US carriers FedEx and UPS have announced their predictions for "peak day" in the lead-up to Christmas.UPS expects to deliver 24 million packages on Wednesday 22 December. The average daily volume for the parcel delivery company is 15.1 million packages.FedEx, on the other hand, has announced that it anticipates 13 December will be that company’s busiest shipping day. It expects to deliver 16 million packages that day, which would be a new one-day record for the express company.UPS has said it plans to hire approximately 50,000 seasonal workers this year to cope with the increase in volumes during the Christmas period.
