DHL in Germany has launched Paketkasten, a parcel locker for residential addresses. These personal parcel lockers can be bought or rented.[caption id="attachment_6095" align="aligncenter" width="398"]

Loading a parcel into the Paketkasten[/caption]The Paketkasten is aimed at owners of single- and two-family homes who can install them on their property. The only prerequisites for using one are simply the availability of sufficient space where it can be installed and easy access for DHL delivery personnel.The Paketkasten can also be used to return parcels or directly mail parcels and packets that have the correct postage affixed.The introductory price for the basic model is €99. DHL also offers the option of renting for a monthly fee starting at €1.99.
