Orange and Dubbo Licensee teleconferences

POAAL Directors Dennis Jenner and Bob Chizzoniti recently hosted two separate teleconferences for Licensees in the Orange area and the Dubbo area. This is a way for us to bring together members from a wide area to discuss matters without having to travel long distances. We understand the difficulties some rural Licensees face in getting to a POAAL meeting. By holding a teleconference, POAAL members can meet just by picking up the phone. Those participating in these recent teleconferences were able to hear first-hand from National Directors of POAAL as well as network with other Licensees in their area. More teleconferences are planned for other rural areas. Some of the discussion points discussed by Licensees at the Dubbo and Orange area teleconference meetings included:

  • Stock supply issues
  • Parcel handling issues in rural areas (including overweight and oversize parcels)
  • Banking, including PCIDSS compliance
  • Delivery point issues
  • Hosting of Mail Contractors at LPOs
  • Scanning of delivery items, including allocation of PDTs to rural Contractors
  • OH&S issues – new national legislation
  • Staff employment matters
  • Risk management for LPOs, including business insurance
  • Future business mix for LPOs
  • PO Boxes, including issues that affect renewal levels
  • AUSTRAC registration and enrolment
  • CEPOS
  • Disclosure Documents, and the importance to request one annually
