In the UK, 40 new vans are being put into service as mobile post offices. The Mercedes Sprinter vans are fitted out as post offices and feature an accessibility lift.Mobile post offices are operated by subpostmasters (the UK's equivalent of Licensees) who take the Post Office's core services to rural areas without a physical post office. Services include postage of letters and parcels, and personal banking (including cash withdrawals). The new vans are replacing vehicles that are six years old.
