In-principle agreement reached on LPO payments

POAAL has completed the first stage of its negotiations with Australia Post regarding changes to some LPO payments.We have been talking with Australia Post for some time, but only recently did Australia Post start providing POAAL with the detailed information we had requested in order to have significant discussions on LPO payments.POAAL has been keeping its paid-up financial members updated during negotiations.The discussions with Australia Post in recent weeks have been intense.POAAL has been resolute in its efforts to achieve a workable and simple payment scheme for Licensees. We have not budged in our demands for Australia Post to resolve various issues connected to Licensee payments.POAAL's negotiating team secured many concessions for Licensees from Australia Post, making significant improvements on the draft payment scheme.Australia Post has proposed that the revised payment scheme be implemented from 1 July 2019. The benefits of the new payment rates will be applied retrospectively to 1 January.POAAL State Chairmen and Committee members across Australia have been working hard testing and scrutinising these payments, as well as making constructive comments on how to fine-tune the payment scheme.Their efforts have resulted in significant improvements to the scheme during discussions between POAAL and Australia Post at a national level.
