Highlights of POAAL Conference Day 2

A visit to the State Parcel Centre and Australia Post's role in protecting Australia's borders were two of the highlights of Day 2 of the POAAL Conference.Delegates visited two local LPOs prior to assembling at the State Parcel Centre in Kings Meadows for a guided tour. The tour covered not only operational aspects of the Centre but also some of the initiatives being undertaken locally to improve mail delivery performance. There was also an opportunity for delegates to put a pair of ULDs to good use!A representative from AQIS gave a detailed presentation on the handling of inward international mail in Australia. Licensees and Contractors were given tips on how to identify suspicious mail items.The Conference was a great success, and Delegates left with new business ideas, new business contacts, and new friends.
