ACCC Small Business Commissioner John Martin and Postal Industry Ombudsman Prof John McMillan were two of the keynote speakers at day 1 of the POAAL Conference in Launceston.Commissioner Martin spoke on a range of topics, including amendments to the disclosure provisions of the Franchising Code of Conduct, the ACCC's role in the regulation of AP's reserved services and its role in monitoring AP.Professor McMillan outlined the role of the Postal Industry Ombudsman in helping resolve disputes. Some of the major causes for complaint were discussed. Prof McMillan noted that the most painful complaints are those that are badly handled and that good complaint handling is good business sense.
