Extension of scanning fee trial to more LPOs

Licensees that host Contractors and PDOs will soon be part of the trial for payment for scanning carded articles for delivery.From October the payment of $0.22 (incl GST) for scanning street addressed carded articles will be extended to LPOs that host Contractors and PDOs.The fee will be payable for delivery of street addressed carded articles. (This includes carded articles for rural/roadside addresses.)As per the current scanning fee trial, the fee will be triggered when there is an attempted delivery scan event by the Contractor/PDO followed by a delivery scan at the LPO.The trial will start as soon as hand-held scanners are issued to PDOs and Contractors based at LPOs. The rollout of scanners to Contractors has commenced. Once Contractors have scanners, Australia Post can identify street addressed articles that have been carded to those LPOs that are not eligible for the carded article fee.
