Express Post next-day network

POAAL welcomes Australia Post's decision to continue Express Post next-day services outbound from Northern Tasmania. Australia Post had previously signalled its intention to remove Northern Tasmania entirely from the interstate Express Post next-day network.There was outcry across Tasmania following Australia Post's initial announcement that Northern Tasmania would be cut from the interstate next-day network. POAAL lobbied Australia Post (at a National and State level), the Minister for Communications Senator Conroy and the Shadow Minister Malcolm Turnbull.POAAL's position was also covered in Tasmanian newspapers The Examiner and The Mercury.Many Tasmanian Licensees backed up POAAL's lobbying by writing to the Minister and to Australia Post.Express Post is an excellent service - possibly the best service Australia Post has ever launched. It's a service appreciated by businesses and consumers, and a mainstay of Licensees' businesses.Australia Post has proposed reducing the Express Post next-day interstate network for a number of areas.POAAL urges Australia Post not to trim the Express Post next-day interstate service, rather it should be consolidated and extended.
