One of the new electric vans introduced by TNT in The Netherlands[/caption]Express parcel delivery company TNT has introduced new electric vans to service Rotterdam and Amsterdam in The Netherlands.The new 3.5 tonne e-Ducato vans replace diesel vans. The vans have a range of 200km and a loading volume of 13m3.TNT is deploying the vans as part of FREVUE (Freight Electric Vehicles in Urban Europe), an urban e-mobility project supported by the European Commission.The City of Rotterdam has stated its ambition to have a zero emission freight transport in the inner city by 2020.To support zero emission transport in city centres, the authorities extend certain privileges such as exemptions from parking bans and access to closed areas outside loading and unloading times.TNT now has a total of nine electric vehicles operating in The Netherlands.
