Consultation on future of Australia Post

The Federal Government has released a discussion paper entitled “Postal Services Modernisation.” This is the starting point fora two-month public consultation on the future direction of Australia Post. This is in response to the losses Australia Post is accumulating in its letters business.

POAAL understands that the Federal Government and Australia Post want to take action in response to the decline in the traditional letters business, the growth in parcel volumes, and changes in customer behaviour.

POAAL will scrutinise the document and make sure its members’ interests and concerns are heard.
