Carbon measurement for postal industry

A carbon management and measurement system for the postal industry has been launched. It will provide a common carbon measurement and reporting framework for the international postal industry.The system has been launched by the International Postal Corporation (IPC), an association of national postal operators including Australia Post.According to the IPC, the system "provides the postal industry with a transparent, scientific, sector specific carbon management and measurement system based on the requirements of international best practice standards, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, DJSI, FTSE4Good, ISO 14001, and current best practice from the corporate environment."It remains to be seen what impact this measurement system will have upon Licensees and Mail & Parcel Contractors.
