Bendigo meeting report

POAAL’s Victorian Branch held a Meet ’n Eat for Licensees in Bendigo on Sunday 22 May 2016. POAAL Branch Chairman Des Burns was the host, along with Committee member Terry Masterton from Mooroopna LPO.Des spoke about the changes affecting Australia Post and the LPO network. Licensees discussed where LPO network is heading, as well as the current leadership from Australia Post.Other topics discussed included:

  • Privatisation of Australia Post – noting recent statements by political leaders that Australia Post is unlikely to be privatised in the near future.
  • MailPlus and the LPO network
  • Hold at Post
  • The importance of having an in-conjunction business or non-AP products and services
  • Extended trading hours

Licensees asked a lot of questions about the changes affecting the network.We talked for so long that we were kicked out of the main dining area, at which point we went to the coffee lounge and spoke for another hour.
