Australia Post has announced that it will apply to the ACCC for an increase in the basic postage rate (BPR). POAAL will support Australia Post’s application for an increase to the BPR.An increase to the BPR will result in increases to LPO payments such as the Mail Management Fee and PO Box payments.As part of today's announcement, Australia Post has advised that it will introduce a concession rate stamp for concession card holders.POAAL has met with Australia Post this morning and requested more details on the implementation of the concession rate stamp. In particular, how concession card holders will need to prove their eligibility to buy these stamps, how any limits on stamp purchases might be implemented, and of course LPO payments or commissions associated with the concession rate stamps.Australia Post will propose that the BPR increases to 70c from 31 March.
