ACCC objects to postage increase

The ACCC has announced that it will object to Australia Post's proposed changes to postage rates.In July, Australia Post submitted a draft notification to the ACCC proposing an increase of five cents to the BPR.The proposal also included an increase in other Ordinary Large Letter prices to align to multiples of the BPR, increases to prepaid envelopes and seasonal greeting cards, and an average increase to PreSort prices of 7.2%.Australia Post has stated that it will further discuss its proposal with the ACCC following the release of the ACCC's objection.The ACCC's view can be downloaded as a PDF from the ACCC website.
