UPS trials composite delivery vans

International parcel delivery company UPS is trialling five new delivery vehicles made with plastic bodywork. The vehicles use lightweight composite materials in their bodywork in order to cut down on weight, thereby improving mileage.

Fuel tax credit rate change for heavy vehicles

The ATO advises that from 1 July 2010 the fuel tax credit rate for heavy vehicles that use fuel such as diesel or petrol and travel on public roads is 15.543 cents per litre.

Do you have commercial vehicle insurance for the vehicle you use for your contract? Does your insurer know that your vehicle is used for commercial purposes? If you haven’t told your insurer that your vehicle is used for delivery or courier purposes, then the insurer may refuse to pay any claim you make.
