About POAAL 2004 National Conference
POAAL’s 2004 National Conference was held at Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast. Delegates came from all over Australia for an action-packed weekend with giveaways aplenty!
Workshops were led by lawyers from MCP Group, the ATO, Customs and Quarantine, an accountant and many others. The LiPOMS workshop was a great hit – as was the workshop for manual (FAP150) LPOs.
John Martin, ACCC Commissioner for Small Business, took the time to listen to individual Licensees as well as speak on the Saturday afternoon. This was really appreciated by Licensees and Mail Contractors.
Guest Speaker Ron Barassi spoke on the importance of teamwork and supporting your mates, which he illustrated with examples from his personal recollections. He made us laugh, and helped us to understand how we should stick together.
Ron’s generously attended the dinner and spoke to so many people individually, willingly giving photo opportunities and providing personal autograph after autograph!
The Conference Dinner was a great spectacle – featuring a great band as well as a belly dancer! The dance floor was packed when the band played, including some outrageous dance moves from some of our exhibitors.
