Posted: February 25, 2021 at 5:06 pm
Australia Post has announced its half-year results for the 2020/21 financial year.
Group revenue was $4.3 billion, up 15.5% year-on-year. Group profit before tax was $166.6 million, including letter losses of $74.2 million.
Parcels and Services revenue was up 25.9% to $3,403 million, while letter revenue was down 11.0%.
Australia Post reported over 107 million customers visited the post office network (including LPOs and corporates) during the first half, with 23.7 million visits alone in December 2020.
The ongoing and extraordinary growth in parcel volumes stimulated by the pandemic put pressure on the post office and delivery networks, and Licensees and Delivery Contractor members rose to the challenge.
POAAL is proud of its members’ continued response during the pandemic. Licensees have strived to keep their businesses open while maintaining a safe operating environment for themselves, their staff and their customers.
