Customers in the USA can now purchase bigger mailboxes that accommodate larger packages delivered by the US Postal Service.

The new mailboxes have been introduced as a means to reduce failed delivery attempts that occur when posties are unable to deliver packages because they won’t fit in customers’ boxes.

The boxes are 7 inches high, 13 inches wide and 16 inches deep. (About 18cm high, 33cm wide and 40cm deep.)

USPS hopes the new larger boxes will reduce failed first time delivery attempts.
