Melbourne meeting review
Posted: March 8, 2017 at 5:41 pm
Licensees from all around Victoria and from interstate heard a leading commercial lawyer with experience in franchising analyse the unilateral changes Australia Post is making to the LPO Agreement and how those changes disadvantage Licensees.
Licensees heard a detailed presentation on some of Australia Post’s changes and the implications of those changes.
The changes Australia Post is making are supposedly to make the LPO Agreement compliant with new protections under Unfair Contract Terms – but some changes have the effect of making the LPO Agreement less fair!
Those Licensees present at the meeting took the opportunity to ask many questions about the practical impact of the changes on Licensees and their businesses. POAAL will soon release a more detailed summary of the main points covered during the presentation, along with suggestions for Licensees who want to back up POAAL’s call for Australia Post’s unfair changes to be resolved.
Nathan from insurance brokers Network Insurance Group gave a short presentation on workers’ compensation, and took Licensees’ questions on topics such as personal accident insurance and business pack insurance.
